Privacy Policy
How we handle data: files never leave your browser, and we collect only anonymous analytics.
Last updated: September 2025
This Privacy Policy explains what information ToolNest ("we", "us", "our") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are committed to being transparent about our data practices and to collecting the minimum amount of data needed to operate the site and improve it over time.
1. Files you process
We do not receive, store, or transmit the files you process with our tools.Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. When you drag a file into one of the upload areas, it is read into your browser's memory, processed locally using JavaScript, and the result is offered as a download. At no point does the file travel across the internet to our servers or any third-party server.
When you close the browser tab, all processed data is gone. We have no backups, no retention period, no recovery option — because we never had the file in the first place. This is the strongest privacy guarantee any online tool can make.
If a future tool requires server-side processing (for example, OCR for scanned PDFs), we will clearly disclose this on the tool page, explain what happens to uploaded files, and implement secure deletion according to a stated retention policy. We will never silently switch a tool from client-side to server-side processing.
2. Analytics
We collect anonymous analytics to understand which tools are used most, what devices and broad geographic regions visitors come from, and where to focus development effort. The specific data points we collect include:
- Page views and the URL of each page visited
- Which tool was used and whether the conversion completed successfully
- Anonymous, coarse-grained geographic region (country level)
- Device type (mobile, tablet, desktop) and browser family
- Referring website or search engine
- Approximate visit duration
We do not collect names, email addresses, precise IP addresses (we truncate IP addresses before storage), persistent identifiers, or any information that could be used to identify an individual user across sessions.
Analytics data is used in aggregate form only — we never look at individual user sessions except when investigating a specific bug report you have voluntarily contacted us about.
3. Cookies
We use a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies. Specifically:
- Theme preference: remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode. Stored in your browser's localStorage, never sent to our server.
- Analytics cookies: used by our analytics provider to distinguish unique sessions without identifying individuals. These cookies contain randomly generated IDs, not your name or email.
- Advertising cookies: if and when we integrate an advertising network like Google AdSense, the network may set its own cookies to serve relevant ads. These are governed by the network's own privacy policy.
Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
4. Advertising
The site is supported by advertising. When we integrate an advertising network (such as Google AdSense), the network may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or AboutAds Choices.
We never ask users to click advertisements, never use fake download buttons or misleading ad placements, and never engage in click-exchange schemes, bot traffic, or any other practice that violates advertising network policies.
5. Third-party links
Our site may contain links to third-party websites (for example, in our guides or in advertisements). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing them with any personal information.
6. Children's privacy
Our site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR in the EU, CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Because we do not collect personal information beyond anonymous analytics, these rights largely do not apply. If you believe we hold personal information about you and wish to exercise these rights, please contact us at tensogroup062@gmail.com.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. For significant changes, we will also post a notice on the homepage for a reasonable period.
