About these PDF tools
Every tool on this page runs entirely in your browser using modern web standards. When you drag a file into one of the tools, it is read into your browser's memory and processed locally — nothing is uploaded to any server, and nothing is retained after you close the page. This makes the tools fast (no upload or download time), private (sensitive documents stay on your device), and free to operate (no server costs to pass on to you).
The library stack powering the tools includes pdf-lib for low-level PDF manipulation (merge, split, rotate, build), pdf.js for rendering pages to images (PDF to JPG, PDF to PNG), jsPDF for building new PDFs from images (JPG to PDF, PNG to PDF), mammoth for parsing .docx files (Word to PDF), and the docx library for writing .docx files (PDF to Word). All of these are open-source, audited, and run client-side.
